A black fog was starting to shroud my aching heart. I just couldn’t believe Bill had broken up with me. Everything was going so perfect, it was like a fairytale. Now it was all over and I didn’t even know why.

It all started when I auditioned for DSDS with my friend Markesha, as part of Enchanted Devilish Girls. We auditioned because we love music, but also mainly to meet Bill and Tom who were judges. Markesha loved Tom and I loved Bill, so we called each other sisters in law all the time.

So we arrived and finally it was out turn to go onstage and we shouted “we’re Enchanted Devilish Girls and we love Bill and Tom!”

The judges looked a bit taken aback, then they all started laughing and said “come down here and give Bill and Tom a hug”

So I ran down and threw my arms around a rather startled Bill and said “I love you!” I don’t know what Markesha said to Tom as all I could focus on was this gorgeous creature sitting before me.

However, we had to go back onstage and sing, so we sang an Evanescence song, dedicated to the twins of course, and we got through! We were beyond excited. We would get to see the twins again! Well we got through the next few rounds and made it to live shows. We were staying in a lovely luxurious hotel in Germany. I cherished each and every time I got to meet Bill. He was so kind and gentle, and I fell further in love each day.

The night after the first live show, and we made it through, I was back at my room messing around writing some lyrics, when there was a knock at the door. I opened it and it was Bill. My heart skipped a beat. “Come in” I said.

He came in but just stood there looking awkward.

I said “What is it?”

He continued to look awkward and was now looking from the ground to me and back. I thought I was going to explode if he didn’t speak soon. Eventually he blurted out “would you like to go to the cinema with me?”

Well what did he think I was going to say, “of course”.

He left and I jumped up and down shouting yes! The there was another knock at the door, so I opened it and there stood Tom. “Come in Tom” I said.

He came in and said “Bill sent me to find out what you really think of him. But I wasn’t to say he sent me.”

“I’m crazy about him” I replied.

“Good, Tom said, because he really likes you.”

YES! As soon as he left I called Markesha in the room next door and lo and behold, Tom had asked her out! So it looked like the four of us were going on a double date to the cinema.

You know, I can’t even remember what movie we saw, all I was aware of was the handsome hunk sitting next to me. Especially when he reached over and covered my hand with his, and then we both intertwined our fingers and held on to each other for the rest of the movie.

When we got back to the hotel that night, we decided the four of us to go to Tom’s room and raid the mini bar. The boys had whiskey and coke, Markesha had vodka and coke and I had Bacardi, and you guessed it, coke. Actually diet coke. Anyway, I forget what was spoken about, but Bill and I were gazing at each other and then we just started to kiss and our hands were roaming all over each other’s bodies as the kiss deepened, until Tom shouted out “get a room you two.”

We pulled away from each other and Bill was deep red. “get a life Tom,” I said, hitting him with a pillow.

Bill broke from his embarrassment and shouted “pillow fight!”

We four continued to date, and it was magical. We had to date in secret though, so it wouldn’t look as though the twins were praising us on the show because we were together. But that just made it more exciting, seeing each other in secret. Bill promised me a special date for the last night of the show when we could tell everyone.

Finally the special night arrived and it was down to Enchanted Devilish Girls and another band called Notebook. Our whole entourage was there, our best friends, Lena, our co-songwriter, Kayleigh, our stylist, Amy, our make up artist and Amanda our choreographer. They were all our old friends, we kept them on because we loved them.

So, the presenter, Marcus, called us out onstage and we waited and waited, and finally he said “the winners are…Enchanted Devilish Girls!”

Well we couldn’t believe it, we turned and hugged one another, Next thing I knew, Bill was there and gathering me up into his arms, screaming out “I’m in love with this girl Nikki!” I was shocked.

“Bill, I cried, you’re embarrassing me!” Bill looked at me for a minute and then we both burst out into laughter.

“I love her!” he shouted again.

“And I love him! I shouted. Then we noticed Markesha and Tom looking at us like we’d lost our minds.



Later that night, Bill pulled me aside and told me he had a special gift for me and I had to come with him. We arrived in a big arena and I still didn’t know what was happening. Next thing I knew, Evanescence came onstage and rocked the place. I couldn’t believe I was finally getting to see them. “I remembered from your first audition you said you loved them”, Bill whispered in my ear.

“Oh my god, I can’t believe you remembered” I whispered back.

That night Bill came back to my room and we raided the mini bar. “I knew you were a winner” he said to me. It was the first night we could really be together, not in secret. We lay in each other’s arms and talked about anything and everything late into the night. The next morning we woke up, still in each other’s arms.

“This is the best way to wake up ever” I told him and he agreed. He had a meeting so he left to get ready and I rang Markesha and told her I had spent the night talking with Bill. She told me that she had spent the night with Tom, only not talking…

Anyway, roll on two months and Bill has broken up with for no reason. I can’t believe it, I’m devastated and heartbroken. My girlfriends have all come over for a slumber party/pampering to cheer me up. In a way it kind of makes me feel worse though, as they all have boyfriends now, Markesha and Tom of course, Lena is with Zac Efron now, Kayleigh is with Ville Valo, Amy is with Gustav, Amanda is with Shane, and our new friend, Kitty who is Georg’s girlfriend is also with them. I know they mean well and I love them, but I can’t get over the aching in my lonely heart, where he should be.

We were just watching Dirty Dancing when She’s Like the Wind came on and I had to lock myself into the bathroom sobbing. I guess he was just “out of my league.” There was a knock on the door so I got myself together and went to answer it. There stood Bill. I looked at him and he looked back. Then he broke into the following speech:

“I’ve loved you since the first time I saw you on the Btk app. I couldn’t pluck up the courage to reply to you. I looked for you every day. When you turned up at the auditions I could barely breathe. When you said you loved me too, I nearly died. When we got together it scared the crap out of me. I’ve always been a hopeless romantic, and you could have destroyed me. I’m a total coward, because I got these tickets to New York for you to see all your favourite shows, but I kept them hidden because I was too scared to tell you. I pushed you away and I hate myself for it, because really, I love you, I love you so much it’s not even funny.”

By this stage we were both in tears and I flung my arms around him and he pulled me tight to him and then we kissed as though our lives depended on it. Next thing we heard cheering and clapping, and turned to find the girls all standing around cheering us on. One or two had tears in their eyes, you know who you are!

Well that is my story of auditioning for DSDS and falling in love with the best most romantic guy in the world. Enchanted Devilish Girls are currently rehearsing to go on tour with Tokio Hotel so I am sure there will be many more stories to tell!
